How To Become A Millionaire In Your 20’s

Age is just a number, anyone can become a millionaire anytime they want. With hard work and perseverance, anyone can become a millionaire. In this post, I shared with you ways on how to become a millionaire in your 20’s.

At some point, most people dream of becoming a millionaire. However, most people would be more than happy if they can become a millionaire by the time they retire. With the right mindset and approach, you don’t have to wait until you retire. Instead, you can become a millionaire in your 20’s and as early as now.

For a person to become a millionaire, it doesn’t require years of schooling and training.  Becoming a millionaire requires a person to become hard working and have the right mindset in achieving their goals. Becoming super successful isn’t just finding a great job, it’s about changing your lifestyle to achieve greatness.

Here’s how to become a millionaire in your 20’s:

1. Educate Yourself Regularly

Becoming a millionaire doesn’t require you to go to formal schooling or to graduate with a fancy degree. However, you can’t ever stop learning if you do want to be very successful. You must be knowledgeable and extremely educated in a specific industry or niche to be very successful. The best way to educate yourself regularly is to constantly read, watch videos, network with smart individuals, listen to podcasts and watch interviews.

2. Create Multiple Income Streams

Look, I’ve mentioned this over and over again. The average millionaire has 7 different sources of income. Smart individuals start with one business and they take the cash they get from that to create more income streams. Ideally, you want to focus all your time and attention on one business while having a handful of other streams that will make you money as you sleep. Anything and everything can be monetized as long as you take the right approach towards it. Always keep your eyes open for various opportunities.

3. Invest More, Save Less

If you have the money, don’t just stuff it in your savings account and sit on it. Conventional wisdom goes against my advice on this topic. Most people will tell you that it’s best to save as much of your money as possible, put it in a nice savings account or CD and collect the interest. That’s bullshit, that’s how you get rich 50 years from now. Invest! Investing is considered the holy grail of making money. For you to become a millionaire quickly, you have to take risks and invest your money into things like stocks, bonds, real estate and other businesses.

4. Sacrifice Today For A Greater Tomorrow

When I was in college, I was building my own business and trying to get good enough grades to pass each of my classes. I had to make a lot of sacrifices, which was extremely tough at times. While my friends were out partying, hanging out and enjoying the college life, I was at home or in my office grinding. I had to sacrifice fun today so that I could have a greater tomorrow. If you want to be a millionaire, you have to be willing to sacrifice the fun things of today so that you can achieve your lofty financial goals!

5. Surround Yourself With Who You Want To Be Eventually

When I say this, I don’t just mean in terms of financial success. Surround yourself with people who live and breathe the way you want to. Who you hang out with, spend time with and surround yourself with is extremely important to become a millionaire in your 20’s. Find people that you idolize and use that as motivation to achieve massive success on your own.

6. Invest In Yourself

The best asset that you really have at the end of the day is yourself. In order to be successful, you have to keep your physical and mental health performing at peak levels. Before you get any money, start working on yourself. Educate yourself, take care of your well-being and put yourself in a position where you can be successful.

7. Set Small Goals

If you want to become a millionaire in your 20s, you obviously have a clear financial goal in regards to what you want to achieve in a short period of time. However, setting a goal of $1 million dollars all at once might seem rather challenging. Thus, you have to set smaller goals along the way that will keep you motivated and give you something to focus on so that the entire goal isn’t so daunting.

8. Don’t Settle For Anything But The Best

The most common mistake that I see amongst people is that they don’t think of big enough. Too many people are willing to settle for mediocrity, which is a shame. If you want to be a millionaire, don’t set $1 million as your goal. Set your goal as $10 million. The way I look at it is shoot for the moon and fall in the stars in the worst case scenario. Never settle for anything less than the best!

Conclusion

Age is just a number, anyone can become a millionaire anytime they want. With hard work and perseverance, anyone can become a millionaire. In this post, I shared with you ways on how to become a millionaire in your 20’s.

20. Translate & Earn

If you are multi-lingual, you can use that skill to earn money. Some people are willing to pay people like you who can speak multiple languages. You can get paid a premium if you know a few different languages fluently.

8 Things You Should Do Now To Become A Millionaire

Becoming rich has more to do with hard work and hustle than anything else. If you plan well and commit, anyone can become a millionaire. In this post, I shared with you 8 things you should do now to become a millionaire.

Becoming recognized as a ‘millionaire’ is one of the most sought after titles and accomplishments many people want to achieve. However, it’s anything but easy to achieve that status. The road to becoming a millionaire isn’t easy and unless you get lucky and win the lottery, you’re going to have to work your ass off to achieve it.

In order to achieve your goals and become a millionaire, you’ll have to navigate your route to prosperity. Self-made millionaires have admitted that becoming ultra wealthy takes a specific mindset and approach that very few have. It takes money, investment of time, discipline and a little luck to make your first million.

If you want to reach the seven-figure mark, here are 8 things you should do now to become a millionaire:

1. Make A Commitment

Every journey begins with a single step. Before you make that first step, you have to decide to make that step. The same goes for becoming a millionaire. If you want to become a seven-figure earner, then you should already visualize what it will take to get there and what it will feel like once you’re there.

Make it a commitment to become a millionaire. Not only that, but you need to have clear intent in your mind that you will become a millionaire one day. But don’t get caught daydreaming about your first million for too long because without action, you won’t earn a single dollar. Commit to the massive goal of becoming a millionaire mentally and physically before you embark on your journey.

2. Have Multiple Sources of Income

The average millionaire has 7 sources of income. It’s very difficult to make $1 million dollars from just one business venture. However, millionaires understand this and they expand themselves across numerous possibilities. Those 7 sources of income can include smart investments, small side businesses or even a job.

To make money in this world, you have to be willing to invest and take risks instead of stuffing it in your bank account. Pitbull said it best when he said, “Scared money don’t make money.” You can become a millionaire 30 years from now if you save enough money and do all the right things, but who wants to wait that long? If you want to become a millionaire quickly, you’re going to have to make tough decisions with your cash.

3. Spend Less, Earn More

Let’s face it, more and more people are consumers than they are producers. Having ac consumer mindset means that you spend more time focusing your attention on what you will spend your money on instead of what you will buy with your money. Millionaires are the complete opposite. Instead of thinking of what to spend their money on, they’re constantly thinking of what they can produce to earn more money.

Earning more than you spend, can help you earn the millions of dollars you want. Cutting on expenses that are not essential can help you save a lot of money. To live within your means is the key to financial success. If you want to really become a millionaire, focus on spending as minimally as you need to so you can invest more.

4. Be Decisive

In life, you’ll always be faced with crossroads. When you embark on a quest to earn a million dollars, you’ll definitely be faced with many tough decisions. Through my experience as an entrepreneur, I’ve learned to deal with the decision making process in a few ways. Access the risks and rewards of each decision and make a decision sooner, rather than later.

I’d rather make a decision, be terribly wrong and learn from it than sit there for months contemplating what the best decision may be. If you want to be truly wealthy, you have to be willing to make decisions quickly and deal with the consequences afterwards. Being decisive is a key to financial success.

5. Aim For More Than A Million

Aim for more than a million rather than settling for just a million. 20 years ago, a million dollars was really a lot of money and a lofty goal. However, nowadays it’s not as valuable as it once was. Many people may not even be able to retire off of just $1 million.

When you want to become a millionaire, you have to think big. You should not limit yourself into wanting just $1 million dollars only, try to commit yourself to a loftier goal such as $10 million. There is no shortage of money in the world; there is only shortage of people who are willing to go out and get it.

6. Surround Yourself With Professionals

People who became millionaires and billionaires also need help from financial professionals. Find yourself a good financial planner that can help you to fill your portfolio with the right investments. Not only that, but a good financial planner can recognize bad investments and help divert your attention away from those.

The big thing with financial planners is that you really need to find one that you can trust because some of them may not have your best interest in mind. However, if you do find a financial planner that is knowledgable, they can give you the insight you need from their experiences to help you earn really good returns on your investments.

7. Upgrade Yourself

It isn’t the strongest or the smartest who thrives in the game of life. It’s the one who is able to adapt and constantly educates themselves. Whether you’re 50 years old or just turning 13, education is the true key to success in life. You need to constantly be learning and growing yourself if you want to be extremely successful.

One of the keys to success and becoming a millionaire is to really upgrade yourself. You can get knowledge by doing a number of different things. You can listen to relevant podcasts, seek out for mentors, read, take courses and unlock any knowledge gateway that can give you information you need. Some of the most successful and wealthy people are voracious readers and have never stopped learning every day.

8. Associate With Millionaires

If you want to be successful and become a millionaire, surround yourself with them. Your net worth is your network. Not only that, but there is no better way to think like a millionaire than by constantly associating with others who are that wealthy and getting insight on their way of thought.

Surrounding yourself with the people who share the same vision as you will help you reach your goals much more rapidly. When you associate with millionaires constantly, you become one of them because of what you learn.

Conclusion

Becoming rich has more to do with hard work and hustle than anything else. If you plan well and commit, anyone can become a millionaire. In this post, I shared with you 8 things you should do now to become a millionaire.

How To Charge More For A Product & Still Get More Customers Than Your Competitors

For many businesses, competing for the price is a very important strategy, but sometimes being the highest priced seller in the marketplace isn’t a bad thing. In this post, I shared with you ways on how to charge more for product & still get more customers than your competition.

One of the effective ways to ensure that a business remains profitable is to get paid what you’re worth. The higher the margins, the easier it is to stay in business if you’re selling. However, many people find it tough to compete with overseas companies or other companies that often sell their services or products for cheap. Most people end up reducing their prices in an effort to convince customers to choose them.

My most recent business venture has our company selling products directly to consumers. While a lot of our counterparts and competitors are often times 75% cheaper than us, we have built a brand around being the higher priced product. While there are still many consumers who prefer the cheaper price point, we have built a really strong customer base that prefers our offerings.

If you’re struggling to stay afloat because your margins suck, try increasing your prices. Most people will always advise you to keep lowering your price point until you’re ready to go out of business, but I’ve helped some businesses become really successful by advising them to do the exact opposite, which is increasing their prices. In this post, I will be sharing with you some ways on how to charge more for product & still get more customers than your competition.

1. Stand Out

Imagine a world where your product is so damn good that people don’t even notice the cheaper alternatives or offerings of your customers. How can you stand out in such a way? There are tons of ways to do this. Whether it’s your branding, marketing, story, partnerships or another factor, see what you can do to stand out in comparison to your competitors.

Having a product or service that is extremely unique will give you the opportunity to price yourself significantly higher. Let me give you an example. The backpack company Herschel  charges $75 for a basic backpack with two pockets. I went to local retail store by my house the other day and saw the exact same replica for $9. Why has Herschel been able to price the same item 8x higher and acquire so many customers? They simply created a marketing strategy catering to hipsters. Their competitors were marketing to youngsters who were going to school and Herschel decided to cater to an older market who could afford to spend more on a backpack.

Imagine going to your local retail store and seeing the two bottles in the hand soap isle. Which one is catching your eye? Which one is more expensive? While Method is obviously the more expensive choice, it’s also the one that catches your eye. Inside both bottles, you have regular hand soap. However, Method can charge a higher premium due to their modern branding, better labeling and approach.

2. Offer Quality That Can Be Seen

When you aim to be a low cost provider, it’ll limit how good your quality can be. However, some people will really shell out some serious cash for higher quality items. I used to be a bargain hunter, but recently I’ve also been valuing quality over quantity. When I go to the grocery store, I’m looking for the product with the highest quality and I look into the little details.

If you’re a company that prides itself on creating products in the USA or using a special ingredient that is better for your health, advertise that. While people may be shocked at the higher price, they’ll understand why you’re charging it. If you can showcase your higher quality products or services to consumers, they will be far more open to the idea of it.

3. Specialize And Dominate

A big way to differentiate yourself from the competition is to specialize. When you specialize your products or services, you force your competitors to either follow suit or you leave them hanging out in the dry. Let’s jump into the Herschel backpacks example from earlier.

People have been selling backpacks, purses and other goods of that sort for decades now. Why was Herschel successful? Well, they decided to specialize and cater their products to a specific niche. They saw this trend of ‘Hipsters’ on the rise and they decided to specialize their backpacks towards them. Today, more than just hipsters are buying their products. However, when they first decided to specialize, they dominated by focusing on one niche/group they knew were willing to pay a higher price.

4. Smarter Marketing

With my latest company, we realized that intelligent marketing alone can allow you to charge a higher price point. My competitors have such a low price point that they can’t afford to spend much money on marketing. Bingo, that’s my advantage. I can outspend my competitors due to my higher margins and get a wider reach for my products.

Look at your business, products, services and offerings to see how else you can market your business. Is there a marketing method that you think would work well but you haven’t been able to try due to budget constraints? This is the time to charge a higher price point and test that marketing method out. Often times, you’ll find your business being more profitable even though you may be selling less items.

5. Be Confident

Part of the reason that a product or a service is worth more is that the team offering it is extremely confident. Believing that your product or service is worth more will make it easier to convince your customers. I remember I had a consulting client a long time ago who was offering personal training and meal prep coaching. When I met him initially, he was extremely timid and would say things like, “$15 a session would be fine, I mean if that is okay with you.”

After servicing a ton of clients, but being barely profitable…he decided to reach out to me for my consulting help. I saw his confidence level low and even worst, he didn’t value himself highly enough. I knew he was offering a great service because all his clients were getting results, but he just didn’t command enough respect. I coached him on declaring his prices instead of asking and increasing his self-confidence, which enabled him to charge $75 a session.

6. Know Your Competition

One of my best skills in business has been knowing my competitors inside and out. While knowing your business and industry is important, having a jump on your competitors is just as important. You can study your competitors and learn a lot.

For example, I’ve studied my competitors to see what mistakes they made and what things didn’t work for them. That enabled me to save a ton of time trying the same things that they had already failed at. If you’re looking to charge a higher premium, use your competitors as a measuring stick to see what worked and didn’t work. Understand why, improvise from there and take control from that point forward!

Conclusion

Remember one thing, Beyonce and you both have the same 24 hours in the day. It’s all about what you do with your time and where you apply yourself. In this post, I share with you 10 tips for waking up early and running the day.

Many people have a really tough time getting out of bed in the morning and end up becoming night owls. While there’s nothing wrong with being a night owl, it’s true that the early bird does get the worm. If you’re in a business where you need to be up early, you’ve got a find a way to wake up ready to run the day!

You’ve probably heard time after time that some of the most influential and successful people in the world wake up at the crack of dawn. I’ve tried waking up early and late, which has allowed me to learn one major thing. When I’ve woken up early, I’ve been far more productive.

Here are 10 tips for waking up early and running the day:

1. Sleep When Feeling Tired

One of the reasons why we sleep is to rest our bodies and recharge our energy. The best time to hit the hay is when your body is tired because it means you’ll probably fall asleep pretty quickly. Having a sleep pattern of sleeping when tired and waking up at a set time can help adjust the body clock on a routine, which will make it easier to get up each morning.

2. Wake Up Before Your Alarm

Setting up an alarm is almost mandatory when you attempt to wake up early initially. However, once you get in the habit of getting up early, you’ll be surprised to find that you can probably wake up without an alarm. When you wake up without an alarm, you wake up more refreshed and focused. For example, set your alarm at 6:05 AM if you want to wake up at 6 AM. See if you can automatically wake up at 6:00 AM after you make it a habit to wake up at that time with the alarm for 15-20 days.

3. Don’t Go Cold Turkey

It is not easy to change a routine that may have been developed for years. If you routinely wake up at 8 AM and suddenly want to change it to 5 AM, you can’t just do that overnight. The body will experience a jolt from the sudden change and you’ll feel sluggish and deprived of sleep that day. You need to gradually make a transition. Try to wake up an hour earlier for a week before moving back another hour. Improving your waking time in smaller chunks until you have finally reached your ultimate goal.

4. Sleep Earlier

Logically if you want to wake up earlier, you probably should go to bed earlier. You need to get a sufficient amount of sleep each night for your body to be alert and ready for the work day. I recommend sleeping at least 6 hours, but aiming for 8 hours per night. Getting a good night’s rest will make your body relax, feel recharged and ready to take on the day!

5. Understand Why

When you want to wake up early, you need to develop the proper mindset on why you want to wake up early. Otherwise, you’ll just hit the snooze button and go right back to sleep each morning. Some of the regular activities you can do are to listen to podcasts, read about people who wake up early and let them inspire you while reminding yourself why you need to wake up early. If you consume yourself with this kind of material, you’ll feel excited to get up each morning.

6. Reduce Exposure To Blue Lights

One of the main reasons why we find it difficult to wake up each morning is because of the blue lights we get from televisions, computers, cell phones and other technological devices.  When we are frequently exposed to them before bedtime, they become detrimental to our sleep. To be able to sleep early and wake up early, we must limit our exposure to blue lights before bed. Avoid using electronics 2-3 hours before bed and you’ll get a better night of rest and a more productive day ahead.

7. Stop Consuming Caffeine Before Sleep

Caffeine is what keeps us going in the morning, but caffeine before sleep can cause us to sleep late and wake up late as well. Caffeine is not bad for the body, but according to FDA studies, caffeine hits the body an hour after consumption and can stay for four to six hours. Make it a personal rule to stop caffeine consumption at least six hours before bed so that you can you wake up early the next day and be productive.

8. Have A Goal Set Before Sleeping

Some people like to read while others like to browse the news before going to bed each night. However, I like to plan out my following day and get excited for what tasks I have on my calendar the following day. By doing this, I set goals and plan my day out the night before. When you set a goal before you sleep, you are more likely to wake up early because you should be excited to get shit done. Add an urgency to your goals and you’ll find yourself waking up early.

9. Know The Reason You Wake Up Late

Reflection is key when you want to become better in anything. You may need to take some time to evaluate your own life and understand why you’re always late in waking up. When you evaluate and isolate the problem areas, you can create a specific plan to fix those issues and improve your schedule over time.

10. Make It A Habit

It’s great if you manage to wake up early once, but it doesn’t mean much. You need to really make it a habit and there’s only one way to do that. Consistency. Consistency is key, especially when it comes to building a proper routine. When you make it a habit to wake up early, you will be able to become more productive and do more to improve your career and attain success.

8 Ways To Grow Your Blog & Gain A Massive Following

If you’re trying to take your blog to the next level, there are a number of strategies you can experiment with. In this post, I shared with you 8 ways to grow your blog & gain a massive following.

For a blog to grow, you must gain a following of people who are interested in your content. Followers are important for a blog and a blogger and the loyal ones are who can increase traffic for a blog. No matter how much traffic your blog may already have, you can always use a little more!

Over the last few years, I’ve been able to accumulate quite a bit of traffic to my blog and grow the number of loyal followers I have. I have gone through the ropes and tested quite a few different strategies. Some of those strategies have worked effectively while others have failed miserably. I’m here to help shorten the education process for you by sharing some of my most helpful tips when it comes to growing a blog!

Here are 8 ways to grow your blog & gain a massive following:

1. Engage With Other Bloggers In Your Niche

Believe it or not, one of the most effective strategies for growing my blog has been networking with other bloggers in the entrepreneurship sphere. By doing so, not only did I get to build meaningful relationships, but I got to learn a lot about the community. At the end of the day, every niche has its own community.

When you start networking with other bloggers, you’ll notice that you’ll get more traffic, shares and engagement on your blog. Don’t think of other bloggers in your niche as competitors, but rather see how you guys can partner up in a beneficial manner. Develop a strong relationship with other bloggers and figure out ways to help each other while creating a mutual benefit.

2. Contribute To Top Publications In Your Niche

Whether it’s other blogs or major publications in your niche, you can contribute to other blogs as a ‘guest author’. This is a mutually beneficial partnership for both sides. You benefit because you get to push your content out to a new audience while the publication has the benefit of getting fresh content for their website.

Once you have established a strong relationship with other bloggers, you can easily reach out to them and see if you guys can trade content. This is one way to grow your audience and followers. Contributing guest posts to top blogs in your niche is a highly efficient to grow your own blog.

3. Consistent Posting

Bloggers who gain more followers are those who consistently post on their blog. Let me give you an example. One year ago, I was extremely busy with speaking engagements and my businesses that I wasn’t able to pay as much attention to my blog. I was creating about 1-2 posts per week. Fast-forward to 2017, I’ve been able to post around 3-4 times a week and my traffic has increased by 50% since last year.

The math is really simple. The more content you post, the more exposure your blog will get enabling you to get more traffic and followers. The only thing to keep in mind when posting more frequently is to maintain the same level of quality. Don’t focus on quantity unless the quality is also consistent.

4. Publish Content Your Audience Wants to Read

A big mistake many new bloggers make is too often focusing only on the content they are interested in sharing. However, if you want to generate a following and grow your blog, you have to focus on your audience. What kind of content do they want? What kind of things do they want to learn from you?

Survey your audience and communicate with them to figure out what they want to read. Some of my best performing blog topics came from creating polls on my Facebook or Twitter pages. Not only that, but I’ll frequently ask my audience what they want me to discuss in future blog posts and I’ll create content around that. When you take time to understand your audience, the results will be much better!

5. Encourage Social Sharing

The fastest and most affordable way to grow your blog is to create content that is shareable through social media. One of the fastest ways my blog grew early on was because my followers were sharing my content with their audience. There are a few different ways that you can encourage social sharing.

First and foremost, you always want to make it easy for your audience to share your posts. Utilize a social sharing bar and include all of the social networks. On my blog, people can easily share my posts on any major social network with the bar that follows them on the left side. In addition to that, share each of your new posts on social networks so that people can easily re-share your content or engage with your posts.

6. Respond To Comments & Questions

Engaging with your audience is one of the most crucial things for bloggers to do. Recognizing and acknowledging your readers is something that will help you build meaningful relationships that will eventually grow your following. Engage with your readers and be thoughtful.

Whether the comment deserves a response of not, always find a way to reply. If someone says something like “Great post”, don’t just ignore it. Acknolwedge them through the comments and thank them for the kind words. One of my most successful strategies has to been always reply back to everyone who reaches out to me.

7. Build An Email List

Many bloggers say that their email list is the most valuable part of their blog. If someone is willing to subscribe to their email list, they feel that it is a user that is extremely valuable. There are a few ways to build an email list really easily for a blog.

The strategy that worked best for me was to give something away for FREE in exchange for their email addresses. On my blog, I share a FREE ebook with my audience that can be downloaded in exchange for an email address. By building an email list, you can bring in recurring traffic and utilize it to generate more income.

8. Have An Excellent Blog Design

The design of your blog is extremely important if you want to grow your audience. While most blogs are focused around content, the visual display you place your content in is also just as important. I’ve been to some blogs that have been so bland that I feel like I’m reading an essay off of a Text Edit document.

It becomes very hard to focus and I simply can’t focus on the content. Do you think I’m going to come back to read their next blog post? You guessed it right, I’m definitely not coming back. Create a simple design and survey your audience to see what they like and don’t like about your design. Implement those changes and create a visual experience that is comforting for your audience.

Conclusion

If you’re trying to take your blog to the next level, there are a number of strategies you can experiment with. In this post, I shared with you 8 ways to grow your blog & gain a massive following.

How I Ran My Businesses In 1 Hour A Day While Traveling Through India

Having the luxury of owning a business and traveling is something very few people have, but many want to achieve. With the right processes and systems in place, you can have a lifestyle business of your own. In this post, I shared with you how I ran my businesses in 1 hour a day while traveling through India.

I recently had the amazing opportunity to visit my family, take time off and travel through India. While most people love traveling, the challenge has always been finding enough time off. I faced that same dilemma for many years and rarely ever took a trip.

However, I have recently made some organizational and lifestyle changes to give myself more opportunities to travel. I went to India for two weeks and had the pleasure of enjoying some amazing experiences with my family while still being able to manage all of my businesses.

In this post, I’ll share with you how I ran my businesses in 1 hour a day while traveling through India:

1. Create A Great Team Around You

Without my partners and employees, I would not be able to successfully manage my business in just an hour a day. The truth is that without my team, I probably wouldn’t be able to manage my business at all without being home. For the last few years, I’ve learned one very important skill.

I’ve learned to hire intelligently and to trust others with important operations in my businesses. By doing this, I reduce my own workload while having awesome individuals focus on their greatest talents. While I was gone, my team was not only able to continue managing my businesses but they were also able to take on additional tasks that I wasn’t able to look into while I was traveling.

2. Stop Trading Hours For Dollars

The beauty of all of the businesses that I’m running right now is that I am no longer trading hours for dollars. Yes, it’s true if I put in more hours, I should be generating more revenue. However, none of my businesses are service-related. Whether I work 8 hours in a day or 0 hours in a day, I will still get paid.

When you trade hours for dollars, it makes it very hard to have a lifestyle business. So while I was in India, my businesses were still profitable and generating income whether we all worked on it or not. Focus on ways to maximize your earnings without having to maximize your hours.

3. Let People Know

Whether it was my employees, potential partnership deals I was working on or my partners, I notified everyone that I would be traveling. I’m sure you have all seen the automatic email responder that you see where it says “I will be unavailable until Tuesday June 20th. If you are in need of something urgent, contact my colleague at Blah@Blah.com”.

However, I did the exact opposite of that. I was still able to spend an hour a day on my business and most of that time was spent dealing with email inquiries. I notified everyone that I would be traveling, but I would still be available. The only thing was that I wouldn’t be as responsive as usual, but I was still reachable.

4. Document Everything

Regardless of whether you’re planning a vacation soon, this is a good measure to take for any business you have. You should always document how to operate and manage your business so that in the case of an emergency, someone can take over. Try to create an owners manual as best as you can.

If you’ve ever worked on any technical project, you’ll know that any good developer will document all the code they write. Why do they do this? Well, if you need changes or updates in the future and you want to hire a new developer, it’ll be easy for them to take over by reading the previous workers documentation.

Conclusion

Having the luxury of owning a business and traveling is something very few people have, but many want to achieve. With the right processes and systems in place, you can have a lifestyle business of your own. In this post, I shared with you how I ran my businesses in 1 hour a day while traveling through India.

How To Overcome Your Fear of Selling

Fear is one thing that people feel when they try to sell. Exiting your comfort zone and overcoming your fear of selling can help you become a more efficient seller and successful entrepreneur. In this post, I shared with you the ways on how to overcome your fear of selling.

Do you want to be an entrepreneur? Well, almost any entrepreneur at least early on has to do some sort of selling of something in order to be successful. Most people have one thing that hinders them when they try to sell. Fear! Don’t worry because you are not alone if you are afraid to sell. Being afraid to sell is something that impacts nearly everybody at some point even those business people who are very successful today. Everyone at one time or another has experienced fear of selling.

Selling is an integral part of running a business, but many people are fearful or anxious about actively selling their products or services. Although we know that we need to sell our products and services, many feel terrified and anxious by actually doing so.

If we fear to sell, then how do we become successful entrepreneurs? Here are some tips on how to overcome your fear of selling.

1. Know The Source of Your Fear

This tip is necessary for anyone to overcome their fear of anything. You first must know why you are afraid. The fear of selling can come in many different forms. Whether it’s not knowing what to say, fear whether or not people will purchase your products/services or the anxiety of having to engage in a conversation, everyone has their own reasons. Sometimes the reason that we fearful is because we don’t like the idea of rejection. Knowing the source of your anxiety can help you overcome your fear of selling.

2. Start Small

If you fear rejection from the market, start your business small. A lot of the people take on larger projects than they can comfortably handle. The most successful business people are those who interact with others in an authentic and passionate way. So, find a business where you are comfortable with it and stay with it. Remember to start small to be able to reach out more to your customers.

3. Associate With Positive People

When you spend time with individuals who earn big, then you’ll earn big as well by using their techniques. The same goes with your confidence. To get rid of fear, associate yourself with positive people.

4. Don’t Sell, Discuss

When you try to sell your products or service to people, they will more likely become irritated with you if you try to do something known as ‘hard selling’. However, trying to generate interest by “discussing” your product or service in a friendly manner is a better approach to garner interest. Giving them insight on who you are, what you do and how you can help them can create more productive conversations while helping you also overcome your fears by engaging in a discussion.

5. Improve Your Services

The biggest thing about sales is that don’t promise something that you can’t deliver on. My rule for sales has always been to under promise and to over deliver. You may be able to get a yes, but not living up to someone’s expectations will cause you to become really terrified of selling in the future. Honesty and transparency is actually the best policy in business. It makes it easier to sell when you know you can fulfill your client’s expectations and give them exactly what they want.

6. Learn Sales Techniques

“Never go to battle without a gun and ammunition”, which is a very relatable factor for sales. Never venture into selling if you don’t know everything about your business. Equip yourself with knowledge of your own business/industry and know the right techniques for selling through either experience, lessons or courses. Challenge yourself to go out of your comfort zone if you want to find success.

7. Show Credibility

The credibility of a person is imperative if you want to sell and it must be seen through your appearance and non-verbal behaviors. Research shows that people are more likely to relate with other individuals that dress and behave like them. It means that you are in their shoes and you understand what they need so they trust that you can deliver. Not only that, but if you have the credibility to support your background, your fears of rejection are far less.

Conclusion

Fear is one thing that people feel when they try to sell. Exiting your comfort zone and overcoming your fear of selling can help you become a more efficient seller and successful entrepreneur. In this post, I shared with you the ways on how to overcome your fear of selling.

6 Ways To Run A Successful Business With Friends or Family

Running a business with friends and family may present many unexpected challenges within your relationship. However, with the right person.…you have the possibility to also overcome and achieve amazing things. In this post, I shared with you 6 ways to run a successful business with friends or family.

It’s always more comforting to do something scary with someone that you’re close with. Whether you’re starting a business or going skydiving, most people would prefer to do it with a friend or family member. The best part of building a business with a friend or family member is that the trust is already established and you know one another fairly well.

For any business to be successful, trust and good chemistry amongst the founders are extremely important. Although there are also a good amount of cons with having a family or friend as a business partner, it seems that some of the most successful startups have begun in this manner. Whether your business partner is a stranger or trusted friend, there will always be pros and cons that you will need to deal with.

I have had business ventures with friends and family, which has allowed me to learn quite a bit over the last few years. If you are planning to build a business, I can help you with some tips to make it more successful. Here are 6 ways to run a successful business with friends or family:

1. Communication Is A Must

In any relationship, whether casual, business, work, family or intimate, communication is everything. Communication is the key to having a good relationship of any kind. With a family or friend as a business partner, it will still require effort on your end to make it work. In a normal relationship, we have the tendency to hold back on the way we say things because we don’t want to ruin our relationships outside of business.

However, when you start a business, you have to be willing to confront and call out your partner when necessary. With any business partnership, it is important to let go of assumptions and communicate clearly and openly to put everything out in the clear.

2. Have A Clear Chain Of Command

In any business, there has to be a clear indication of who is in charge of which things. One of the most awkward conversations to have with your friend/family member is figuring out who should be the CEO. Often times, both members want the role of CEO and this is a topic where a ton of disputes, arguments and fights arise.

However, in business you have to always make the decision that is best for business. Which of the two is most fit for the position? You have to ask the tough questions and keep it real if you want to successfully launch your business.

3. Never Be Personal With Differences

It is very unprofessional for a person to take any disagreements or differences to a “personal” level. Working with friends or family can sometimes create friction between them. In a business meeting, it is okay to burst out the anger, raise your voice or bang the table to convey resentment or disagreement, but after the meeting, there should be hugs, apologies or peace between partners. In business there will be fights, but never let these fights and disagreements to ruin your relationship.

4. Set Expectations

In every business, there is always an expectation from the employees and the rest of the team. Before and during the launch of your business, you need to make the expectations crystal clear. Set the ground rules and establish who will be in charge of what. While these expectations should be known, it doesn’t mean that they are permanent and that changes can’t be made.

It is understandable that each of you needs to work and you are expected to have an outcome based on your roles and responsibilities in the business. Often times, family or friends jump into a business idea because they are both in love with the concept and the possibilities of success. However, they overlook some of the fundamental things that make a business successful and end up having a tougher time later on.

5. The Business Is The Priority

Many people have a tough time realizing that the business is the priority even over the relationship. If two strangers got into business, they wouldn’t even have to think twice about choosing between the relationship and the business. However, when you do get into business with friends and family members, the relationship sometimes becomes a bigger priority to the people involved.

I have been in this situation many times, but I’ve realized that the business is always the priority. When you decide to engage in business with a friend or family member, you both have to go in understanding that your relationship may not be the same and you both have to be okay with it. If the family or friend is not providing value to the business, that family or friend may have to be let go. While this isn’t an easy conversation to have, you have to sometimes do what is best for the business long-term.

6. All Business Is No Fun

Working with family or friends is great in the sense that you don’t have to be professional all the time. You can quickly disengage from the business and enjoy some fun as well when you guys start feeling burnt out. Often times, friends and family members make the mistake of even talking business when they hang out and go out for leisure.

When you go out for leisure, keep it fun and only fun. The best business partnerships are the ones where you can go into a boardroom and blow away a board of investors while also going out on a weekend to the club and partying hard. However, to get to this type of relationship….you have to be able to take the professionalism out when you leave the office.

Conclusion

Running a business with friends and family may present many unexpected challenges within your relationship. However, with the right person.…you have the possibility to also overcome and achieve amazing things. In this post, I shared with you 6 ways to run a successful business with friends or family.
