The Most Influential People In My Life And How They Shaped My Thoughts

Every successful person has had a collection of people that have influenced their life in a positive manner. I am no different in that regard.

These influencers are a combination of people that I actually know personally and others who I have just looked up to. Nevertheless, they are to thank in their own ways for helping me get this far in my journey.

In this article, I share the most influential people in my life and how they shaped my thoughts:

Steve Jobs

When I truly learned what the word ‘entrepreneur’ meant, the first person I came across was Steve Jobs. I remember watching his commencement speeches, presentations at Apple and reading articles about him. I was in awe from the very beginning.

He taught me a lot about chasing a vision even if it’s something that only you can see. Not only that, but I learned a lot of the basics of design and creating products that are extremely simple to serve a need. He was the reason why I decided to give entrepreneurship a try because he made it seem so meaningful.

Elon Musk

I had always heard this name thrown around, but I hadn’t really researched his stuff until about a year ago. After I did, I couldn’t stop looking up more information about him. About 16 months ago, I had made the decision to become a serial entrepreneur.

Every article I read talked about why being a serial entrepreneur was bad and just meant that you wouldn’t be successful. Then, I came across Elon Musk. He was running 3 business simultaneously and taking the world by storm. I learned from him that if you manage well, you can balance as many businesses as you would like.

The Community

When I decided to become an entrepreneur, I didn’t know anything. It was the support of the amazing entrepreneurial community that got me as far as I have gotten today. When I had questions, I could email out to random entrepreneurs who would give me their time and attention to help me out.

When I wasn’t sure how to do something, I could rely on the community to share articles or posts that would help me get through my most recent obstacle. Without a strong community of entrepreneurs supporting one another, this journey would have been a hundred times more difficult.

My Father

At 15, my parents told me to go get a job. Hearing those words pissed me off and I had a sense of hatred towards my parents at that time. However, I am very thankful they did what they did today.

My father taught me the power of hard work. From watching him work late nights to continuously giving his 100% into everything he does, I learned that there is only one path to success. You have to work your ass off and nothing else. By seeing his work ethic in action growing up, it influenced me to develop better principles.
