5 Steps You Must Take To Successfully Quit Your Job To Start Your Own Company

In this article, I share 5 steps you must take to successfully quit your job to start your own business. I highly do NOT recommend anyone to quit their job without following some of these guidelines.

Over 75% of the emails I receive on a daily basis are from disgruntled employees who want to leave their job to start their own company. I can’t blame these individuals because I was frustrated and in that same position myself 7 years ago.

However, it’s not always the easiest decision to make. You need to have a strong plan of action along with the ability to take on some risk when making the leap from employee to entrepreneur.

In this article, I’ll share 5 steps you must take to successfully quit your job to start your own company:

1. Be clear with your financial & lifestyle goals.

Often times, people underestimate what it means to be a business owner. You need to ask yourself from the beginning, what do you want your life as an entrepreneur to be like and how much time are you willing to spend?

Have a good reason WHY you want to quit your job. Do you want to have more self-fulfillment? Do you want freedom or financial abundance? Tap into the deeper parts of your mind and understand why exactly you want to take this entrepreneurial route.

In addition to this, you need to ask yourself how much money you want to make and how much money you NEED to make to cover all your expenses. Ask yourself how much cash you need to invest in your business and how much savings you need to continue paying your expenses while you work on your new business.

2. Decide on what type of business you want to start.

What type of business do you want to start? What type of business is ideal for you? Often times, people want to start a business because they heard someone who made a ton of money in that industry. However, that doesn’t mean that industry fits your skill set and education the best.

Find a business that you have knowledge in and something that you’re truly passionate about. Ask yourself important questions such as if you’re going to sell a service, digital product or physical product and how your sales process will go.

3. Figure out how you like to work.

In elementary school, you often heard your teachers say that everybody learns differently. Some people are visual learners, others learn well with audio and some even need to break everything down on paper to learn things the fastest.

Work is very similar. Everybody has their own style of work and you need to identify what fits your style the best. Do you like working in systems? Do you like working with other people, can you trust others to bring on a partner?

4. Find your customers, identify a problem and determine how you plan on obtaining sales.

Many people email me saying they want to make the leap to starting their own business, but they haven’t spent any time thinking about any of these issues. First and foremost, you need to come up with an idea/problem and the solution you plan to deliver.

After that, you need to identify who your customers are going to be and where you’re going to find/obtain these customers. If you don’t have a planned strategy of how you’re going to find your customers and market your products/services, you’re going to be in for a lot of trouble. These are all things that you can plan and prepare before quitting your job.

5. Create your product/services and set up your infrastructure.

Finally, before you can quit your job to start your own business….you need to have a plan of action on how you’re going to create your product or services. If you’re making a mobile application or website and aren’t a developer yourself, you’re going to have to enlist the help of a technical person to build your product out.

Not only do you have to build your product out, but you also need to set up a business entity, figure out where you’re going to work and set up some kind of routine to follow. If you don’t have the following steps taken care of, I HIGHLY recommend that you continue working your job until you figure all of these things out.

8 Secrets of Super-Productive Entrepreneurs

In this article, I share 8 secrets of super-productive entrepreneurs. Being productive doesn’t happen overnight, but with the proper mindset….you can eventually get to a point where you are satisfied with your level of productivity.

Everybody in the world has the same 24 hours every single day. What each person does with their 24 hours in a day varies greatly. Professional athletes spend that 24 hours resting, rehabbing, recovering and further practicing to continue fine tuning their craft.

An entrepreneur? Well, they spend their 24 hours doing something much different. Entrepreneurs work on their businesses and do whatever it takes to propel themselves for greater success. The big difference between some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world and others is how they spend their 24 hours each day.

That comes down to how productive and efficient entrepreneurs are each day. In this post, I’ll share 8 secrets of super-productive entrepreneurs:

1. They Are Organized.

You don’t necessarily have to be an extremely organized person, but you need to have someone in your life that will organize things for you. If you have everything you need in an organized manner, you’re automatically going to be productive. Think back to how many times you had to find something really important, couldn’t find it and how much time you spent trying to find it. It may only happen once every now and then, but over a course of 5 years….you can lose a LOT of time due to poor organization.

2. They Have Work/Life Balance.

If you work 20 hours for the next 5 years every single day, you’ll eventually burn out. It’s an admirable thought, but that’s now how you become a super successful entrepreneur. You have to balance your work with your life. You have to spend time with friends, family members and significant others. You need to create balance in your life and every single day. If your mind is fresh, your performance will be far superior.

3. They’re Hungry For Success.

If you’re an entrepreneur, you should be motivated to build the greatest company or product possible. If you’re already hungry for success, you’re already a step ahead of someone who is unmotivated. Super-productive entrepreneurs don’t need to motivate themselves every morning. They wake up with a great deal of passion and enthusiasm to succeed.

4. They Have Healthy Habits.

Entrepreneurs are so busy that they often overlook their health. I’ve done that during many portions of my life and my body has felt the tolls of my neglect. Health trumps everything else long-term and you need to take care of yourself before you take care of your business. Take time out of your day to exercise, meditate and eat healthy. Just by doing these things, you’ll mentally and physically feel better and be able to perform far more efficiently throughout the day.

5. They Work Smarter Not Harder.

I often talk to entrepreneurs who are dissatisfied with their results and they always jump to the idea that they need to work harder. More hours and more focus seems to be the answer to their problems. However, I quickly learned that it’s not about how hard you work but rather how smart you work. If you have a lot of things to do, learn to delegate and give tasks to employees and partners. As much as you want to do everything in your business, it’s SMARTER to do what you’re good at and letting others handle the less important things.

6. They Develop Routines.

Ever since I’ve created a consistent routine that I follow almost every single day, I have gotten so much more productive. Building routines are crucial because they create habits and you can get comfortable with a balanced schedule that you can follow each day. Here’s what my routine/schedule looks like. I wake up in the morning, I check my emails and take care of the most important tasks. From there, I grab some food and I continue taking care of meetings and handling tasks. Around the middle of the day, I give my mind a break by going to the gym for an hour or so and I come back and start working again. This continues until the early evening where I finally shut off. I end up hanging out with friends, pursuing hobbies and doing things not related to work. Finally, I may do a little bit of work on my smartphone before going to bed.

7. They Are Willing To Say No.

When I first started out as an entrepreneur, I could NOT say NO. I thought I would be considered an asshole and I felt like I had to cater to everything that I would be asked. The greatest word I added to my vocabulary consistently was the word “NO”. You have to prioritize your tasks and value your time. If someone thinks you’re an asshole for it, so be it but you’ll be much happier and much more productive as a result of it. If it’s not something you can take on, just say NO.

8. They Constantly Improve.

You aren’t going to wake up one morning and automatically be one of the most productive  entrepreneurs in the world. Life and everything in life requires constant improvement. As long as you make a conscious effort to improve your efficiency, you’ll eventually make small improvements along the way and get to a point where you’re extremely satisfied with where you are at.

5 Life Lessons I Learned From Working Minimum Wage Jobs In High School

In this post, I share 5 life lessons I learned from working minimum wage jobs in high school. While I hated the idea of working a job at 15, I can look back today and say that it was one of the best experiences I have ever gone through because of all the valuable lessons I learned.

At the age of 15, my parents gave me a pretty tough ultimatum. Go get a job and earn some money after school if you want to get the latest video games and hang out with your friends. They were going to provide me with shelter, food and the bare minimums of course….but they weren’t going to pay for my luxuries.

At the time, I couldn’t stand my parents for putting me in this horrible situation. I was 15 years old, none of my friends had to work. Why did I have to get a job? I was working maybe 15 hours a week earning $300-$400 a month.

Looking back now, I’m so glad that my parents did what they did. The hardships and struggle I faced during those years gave me a sense of gratefulness that many others don’t understand still later in their lives. I would do the same thing with my children and I absolutely recommend you to do the same thing with your kids.

In this post, I share 5 life lessons I learned from working minimum wage jobs in high school:

1. Life Is Pretty Damn Tough

As a child, you take everything in life for granted. Making money? Oh that’s my parents job and it’s extremely easy. Paying bills? Oh, that’s easy too. It was only after I took a job and learned how all this stuff works that I realized that life is extremely tough.

Making money isn’t easy. You can make it easy with the right mindset and set of skills, but it’s definitely not something anyone can just wake up one morning and do. Even getting employed by someone didn’t mean that my job was easy. I had to do work I didn’t want to do and show up when I didn’t want to show up. Getting a job this early gave me a solid perspective on life and I really understood just how tough things are.

2. Do What You Love

I was extremely fortunate to truly understand what career happiness meant at a very young age. Many of my friends only realized this after graduating from college and taking a job. I learned at an early age that if I focused on work that I didn’t enjoy, I would be miserable and I wouldn’t be successful at it.

From an early age, I had mentally decided that I would only do work that I loved. If it didn’t excite me and I couldn’t get obsessed with it, I wouldn’t pursue it. Learning this lesson from working various jobs that I was disinterested in contributed to me doing the work that I do today.

3. Comfort And Change Don’t Go Together

If you want change in your life, you’re not going to be comfortable. I quickly learned that by working these minimum wage jobs in high school. The change I needed was a salary and money to do the things I enjoyed. However, doing these things didn’t make me comfortable at all. I was very uncomfortable and unhappy with the circumstances.

If you want to change something in your life, you have to be willing to give up comfort. If you really want something bad enough, you are willing to do so while you’re uncomfortable. Just remember, change and comfort won’t go together and you have to choose one or the other to attain what you want in life.

4. Always Have A Bigger Picture

Even when I was working each of these minimum jobs, I always wanted something more. I wanted more pay, more freedom and to do something more meaningful. I quickly learned at high school that you can never be satisfied with where you’re at, you always need to have a bigger picture.

Many people find their careers in an endless loop because they don’t have a bigger picture. To get the most out of life, I knew from an early age that I had to always demand more and have plans for something more.

5. Always Learn

Even though I didn’t enjoy most of the minima wage jobs I took, I always made sure that I learned as much as I could. I asked my bosses and managers as many questions as I could and I was always focused on learning every single day. That mindset and mentality has NOT changed today.

If you continue educating yourself, you’ll get yourself better opportunities down the line. Working as a project manager for a web development company gave me the education I needed to launch my own multimedia agency a few years later. By keeping my eyes open and learning from people smarter than me, I was able to launch my own entrepreneurial career using what I had learned during my time working.

10 Things To Know Before Dating An Entrepreneur

In this article, I share 10 things to know before dating an entrepreneur. Many people get into a relationship with an entrepreneur and understand just how tough it is. This article gives you an idea of what to expect before getting into a relationship with an entrepreneur.

Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy, because entrepreneurship is a lifestyle. It’s something that takes over your entire life and it ends up being your number one priority in most cases. When you enter a romantic relationship, many partners have a tough time accepting the fact that they won’t always be the most important thing.

Many of my entrepreneurial friends often times tell me how tough it is to date an entrepreneur. The difficulty with dating an entrepreneur is that most people don’t truly understand what the life of an entrepreneur consists of.

I’ve been in a relationship with a lovely woman for almost 7 years now and she’s been with me even before I began my entrepreneurial journey. There were many times were things were extremely tough given my lifestyle, but to this day we have made it work.

In this post, I’ll share 10 things to know before dating an entrepreneur:

1. Their Mind Is Always Wandering

Entrepreneurs constantly look for opportunities and think about different things. It’s something that they just cannot control regardless of where they are. It’s nearly impossible for me to ever shut my brain down and I’m always thinking of various things. It doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy being with my partner, it’s just that my mind is hyperactive and it constantly considers different things.

2. They Don’t Do Well With Ultimatums

More likely than not, entrepreneurs choose the path that they have chosen because someone at some point gave them an ultimatum they weren’t willing to accept. If you’re someone who has to have it your way, it’ll be very tough getting into a relationship with an entrepreneur. If you give them an ultimatum, it’s fairly easy for entrepreneurs to choose their freedom over you.

3. They Have Strong Opinions

Entrepreneurs have strong opinions about almost everything. For the most part, entrepreneurs are extremely passionate individuals that care about a lot of different things. If you’re about to engage into a discussion or debate, be ready for things to get intense because entrepreneurs are always willing to let their opinions be heard loud and clear.

4. They Get Bored Easily

Entrepreneurs are always growing, learning and changing. They want a partner who also thinks and feels the same way. Entrepreneurs want their partners to challenge them, grow, change and to want new things in life so that they are never bored.

5. They Hate Lazy People

Because entrepreneurs are so busy themselves, they hate people who are lazy. They are constantly looking for people who want more out of their lives and they want to learn about new things from their partners. If you’re lazy, your entrepreneurial partner will see right through it and eventually get frustrated.

6. They Operate On Their Own Schedule

Entrepreneurs never really work a 9 to 5. As a result of that, if you’re looking forward to catch your favorite television show with your significant other at 7 PM, you might have to think again. Being with an entrepreneur requires you to often times operate at a very weird schedule. Be ready for some midnight dates.

7. They Need Their Own Space

Entrepreneurs are free spirits who love their solitude and space. As an entrepreneur, I love being with my significant partner and spending time with her, but at the same time I love having my space at times. Having space allows me to pursue my own hobbies, passions and adventures in life. If you’re extremely clingy, entrepreneurs might not make the best partners for you.

8. Their Moods Change All The Time

It can be frustrating for someone dating an entrepreneur. They get to see their significant partner on a limited basis and even when they see them, they aren’t always happy or ecstatic. It’s not your fault, it’s just what entrepreneurs go through on a regular basis. Sometimes they’re on top of the world and at other times they feel terrible, it’s the roller coaster ride that comes with the entrepreneurial journey.

9. They Think & Care About You More Than You Know

As an entrepreneur, it’s often tough to show the ones you love how much you really love them. As a result, it might have you questioning whether or not your partner cares for you and loves you. However, you should know that they do care about you and think about you way more often than you can imagine. They just have to make sacrifices in the short-term to live their dream.

10. They May Miss Big Events/Moments In Your Life

The common theme in this article has been the lack of time that an entrepreneur has. You need to understand that sometimes a big meeting or a pitch to investors may end up landing on the same day as a big event in your life. You have to be willing to accept that sometimes an entrepreneur has to do what they have to do.

How To Make Money Blogging – Tips & Strategies To Monetize Your Blog

In this blog, I share my insight on how to make money blogging. I offer a variety of tips & strategies to monetize your blog. Things have changed in recent years and making money from a blog has become a lot tougher, but the opportunities are still endless.

Blogging has become an extremely popular choice of profession in today’s world. Many people turn to the internet for income and starting your own blog is one of the most popular ideas you’ll get when trying to make money online. However, making money from a blog is a lot tougher than most think it is.

In this blog post, I’ll share my tips and strategies on how to make money blogging on the internet.

Things You Need:

Consider the list of vital factors that are ABSOLUTELY important for you to successfully make money blogging. Without these, it’s frankly impossible for you to make any money so you should consider focusing on this if you don’t have all of the items mentioned below.

1. A Blog. If you don’t have a blog, you can’t really make money or do anything so this is the most important thing you need. Here’s how to start a blog if you don’t already have one.

2. Content. Now if you have a blog, but no content….it’s not really a blog. You need to have useful content and information that others genuinely want to read or learn more about.

3. Connections. Having connections is always important as you want to build relationships with people in your space. Find others who do something similar or may have an interest in what you do and build positive relationships with these individuals.

How To Make Money Blogging:

Okay, once you have the items above….you’re ready for the best part. You can now make money blogging. Here are my tips & strategies to monetize your blog:

1. Understand where your income will come from. Very few bloggers nowadays make money from their blog itself by just running advertisements, those days are long-gone. The best ways to make money are by using your blog to connect to another area where you can generate income from. Things like Affiliate Programs, Selling Products, Consultancy, etc.

2. It requires time and patience. You’re not going to wake up one morning and have tons of visitors that are all being monetized with your add-ons. It’s simply not how the world of blogging works. It requires a lot of effort, hustle and determination to succeed. You have to test dozens of different revenue streams to see what works best for you and your audience.

3. Create the right combination of monetization strategies. The best advice I can give you is to NEVER rely on one source of income when it comes to your blog. The smartest bloggers and the wealthiest are the ones who have tons of monetization strategies and are constantly adapting by creating new streams of income on a regular basis. Find a variety of options such as Affiliate Marketing, Consulting, Speaking At Events, E-Books and Selling A Product to get the most out of your blog.

4. Focus on driving traffic. The key staple for any blog is traffic. The more visitors you get, the more money you should be making theoretically. As a result of this, you should be spending just as much time as you do on finding income streams and writing content on actually driving traffic to your blog. Be present on social media platforms and do what it takes to be found online.

Possible Income Streams:

While being a blogger myself and working with many others, I’ve found a good list of income streams that tend to work best for bloggers. Below is my list:

1. Advertising – Sponsored posts, banner ads, display ads, back linking in posts. Example: I’ve made money on this blog from putting a link with a keyword (known as a back link) to someone else’s blog and I’ve made up to $200 for doing just this.

2. Affiliate Marketing  – Selling someone else’s product or services to your blog audience (obviously products you vouch for yourself). Example: I have made money by directing people to Bluehost to start their blogs.

3. Books – You can author a book or an ebook and sell it to make additional income. Example: I have written 3 books over the last few years and I have made quite a bit of income selling these as physical books and as ebooks on different self-publishign sites.

4. Services – Is there a service you can offer your followers? Example: I offered my followers and readers an ability to get consulting with me. I’ve charged upwards of $200 an hour to help entrepreneurs, business owners and others with their issues in growth, marketing and entrepreneurship.

5. Digital Products – Is there a digital product you can sell that will be of use to your audience? Example: I’ve created a digital course on how to turn your ideas into income and I launched this course with over 20 hours of content on Udemy. This course has over 3,000 students.

6. Physical Products – Is there a physical product or an online store you can build to sell products to your audience? Example: This is something I never did, but I’ve had some friends who have been very successful with it. They started a niche blog, found a good product for their audience and began drop shipping it on the side.

These are just a few of my top suggestions, but the options are endless. You can do many more things such as creating a mobile app, launching a podcast, speaking at events for money and other outside of the box ideas to generate income from your blog.

Conclusion

In this post, I shared my top tips on how to make money blogging. These were my tips & strategies to monetize your blog. Do you have any ideas of your own?

What Does It Take To Become An Entrepreneur?

What does it take to become an entrepreneur? This is a question that is often asked to me by many people so I decided to provide my insight on what I think it requires to be an entrepreneur.

The glamour of entrepreneurship often time lures the wrong people into pursuing the dream of owning their own business. However, once someone goes through the process of launching their own company, they begin to realize how daunting of a challenge it is.

I often get asked by my friends and others I know who are working individuals, what does it take to become an entrepreneur? Well, that question doesn’t have an easy answer. In fact, it takes a lot to become and be an entrepreneur.

In this post, I’ll answer the question what does it take to become an entrepreneur?

The Desire For Success Over Everything Else

The hardest part about becoming an entrepreneur is being able to make sacrifices. Most people fail in the early stages because they simply cannot give up certain things in their lives. When I launched my business in high school, my friends would be hanging out after school but I had a decision to make. I could either work on my business or go and hang out with them.

While it was extremely tough, I can look back and say that I made the right decision. I decided to work on my businesses instead of hanging out with them. As an entrepreneur, your business will take over your entire life. Are you willing to sacrifice your love life, friendships and other hobbies to build your company?

Perseverance

When you take the pledge to become an entrepreneur, you’re going to have to be prepared for tons of obstacles and failure along the way. If you are weak-minded and are easily willing to give up after hitting a dead end a couple of times, you do NOT have what it takes to become an entrepreneur.

After becoming an entrepreneur, my entire perspective on failure has changed. Failure isn’t something that defines me or my businesses, unless I allow it. Let me explain that. If you fail and you give up, then you are allowing failure to define you and your businesses. However, if you treat failure as an event….you will never have truly failed. Failure was just something that happened on a given day, you learn and you bounce back.

Discipline

If you really want to be successful as an entrepreneur, you’re going to need unwavering discipline to stay focused. One of the toughest issues I had early on as an entrepreneur when it came to discipline was that I wanted to pursue tons and tons of ideas.

When launching your business, you need to lock in and fully focus on that company. If you have strong discipline to not get distracted, then you will have a very good chance of being successful as an entrepreneur.

The Ability To Work With Others

It’s very rare to hear a story about a successful entrepreneur who built a massively successful business on their own. Good teams are the key to success in building a strong business. Whether it’s choosing good partners or good employees, you must have the ability to work well with others.

Can you trust others and delegate tasks to them? Can you work in a team-like environment where you treat them on the same level as you instead of someone below you? One of the biggest qualities of a successful entrepreneur is the ability to get a group of people to follow them on their vision.

The Ability To See The World Unlike Others

At the end of the day, successful entrepreneurs find problems and create solutions to these issues. To do so, you must have vision and the ability to see the world unlike most other people. Entrepreneurs are people who identify problems and are the few that are willing to do so.

Everyone identifies problems, but most of the general population just gripes about it instead of creating some kind of change. Visionaries are the ones who see a problem and understand how improved an industry, niche or space may be from a solution.

10 Businesses You Can Start Right Now For Less Than $1,000

In this blog post, I shared 10 businesses you can start right now for less than $1,000. For aspiring entrepreneurs, I hope that the ideas shared in this post inspire you to take massive action.

One of the most common questions I get asked from aspiring entrepreneurs is, what type of businesses can I start right now? The next question that I always ask them is, how much capital do you have for this business?

The next answer I get more often than not is that they don’t have any money or maybe $1,000 at the most. It seems like a common question and I wanted to share some businesses that you can start with very little capital.

Hopefully, these business ideas can inspire you to take massive action. Whether you’re working a job or going to school, you can start these businesses on the side until they are big enough to replace your primary options. Here are 10 businesses you can start right now for less than $1,000:

1. Freelancing

If you have a skill such as design, development, transcription, marketing or something else that is in demand, you can start your own freelancing business. It’s free to sign up on sites like UpWork or Fiverr where you can offer your freelancing services. Create a small portfolio, apply to open jobs and you can make income on the side without investing anything.

2. Create A Blog

If you want to create your own blog, you can do so for a small capital investment. I have a step-by-step guide on how to create your own blog, which can help you do so quickly. With a blog, you can find a topic or niche to center it around and then you can produce content on a consistent basis. From there, you have many different options on how to generate income from your blog.

3. E-Commerce Site

You can create an e-commerce site using Shopify for as low as $9 a month. After that, you obviously need capital to find a product that you can sell through your website. You can negotiate a MOQ (minimum order quantity) with suppliers on sites such as Alibaba and get your first order for less than $1,000. When done right, e-commerce websites can be VERY profitable.

4. Launch An App

If you want to launch an app across the iOs and Android stores, you’d be surprised how cost-effectively you can actually do something like this. You’re going to pay $100 to iOs to get your app developer license and $25 to Google Play. From there, you can use sites like ChupaMobile or CodeCanyon to purchase code for a mobile application that has already been built. You can hire a developer & designer to reskin this app and to submit it in your app account for a $300-$400 in most cases.

5. Affiliate Marketing

I am not a huge fan of this, but many people actually make quite a bit of money doing this. You can always sign up as an affiliate marketer and sell products/services for other businesses that you are passionate about to make money. You can work your own hours and you make a commission in most cases each time someone makes a purchase as a result of your efforts.

6. Write A Book

If you have knowledge about a certain topic that others are looking for help in, you can write a book about it. You can self-publish your book using platforms such as Amazon Kindle and you make money each time someone reads your book. If you write your own book, you can probably find a designer on Fiverr to make the cover for $5-$10 and you can spend the rest of the money on marketing.

7. Launch A MVP

Surprisingly enough, you can launch many MVP’s for ideas for less than $1,000. If you are focused on the bare minimums, leverage partnerships and hustle hard enough….you can push out a MVP for a startup idea for less than $1,000. It’s not easy, but I’ve done it in the past. If you have a tech idea, find a developer who believes in your idea to join your mission for equity. You just cut out your biggest cost by leveraging one simple partnership with a little bit of hustle.

8. Invest If You Know How

Many of my classmates in college would get $1,000 and throw it all away on one stock that they thought would be the next big thing. They didn’t know anything about the stock, but they heard someone talking about it how they could get a 100x return on it. More often than not, they lost all their money. If you know how to invest your money with stocks or other things, you can definitely grow $1,000 into a sizable chunk. I’ve met people who have turned $1,000 into $50,000 with some calculated risks.

9. Amazon FBA Business

This sometimes goes hand and hand with launching an e-commerce business, but if you have $1,000 or less….you have to choose. If you don’t want to use Shopify for the time being, another option for selling products is on Amazon FBA. As mentioned above, find a way to negotiate a low minimum order quantity (MOQ) and create a listing on Amazon where you can sell direct to customers of Amazon.

10. Tutor/Teacher

The days of having to tutor or teach in a classroom or one on one are over thanks to the internet. Sites like Udemy and other platforms allow teachers to record and upload their material once while allowing millions of people to access that information. If you are extremely skilled and intelligent in a certain domain, you can create a course and share it online for well under $1,000 and make a lot of money doing it.

Conclusion

In this blog post, I shared 10 businesses you can start right now for less than $1,000. What are some businesses you’ve started for under $1,000?

How To Go From Nobody To Somebody In The Online World

In this post, I share how to go from nobody to somebody in the online world. It may seem hard to build a brand online, but with the right strategies in place, it’s easier than ever to become well-known in the online realm.

Your personal brand is one of the most important things that you can ever build. I’ve stressed this idea many times previously and I’ve mentioned to you how important it is to build your personal brand, sometimes even moreso than your corporate brand.

When I started my entrepreneurial journey, it was only after two years and selling my first company that I realized how important it is to build a personal brand. All the hard work I had spent building my business brand was gone the moment I sold the company. It was as if I didn’t exist.

Fast-forward to today, it’s been 4 years and I like to think that I’ve built up a fairly good personal brand online. I started with nobody ever hearing about me to building a brand that has gotten me the following accomplishments:

– Verified on Social Media

– Featured by Top Blogs/Websites

– Interviewed In 30+ Media Outlets

– Speaking Events All Over The World

– Anyone Who Searches For Me Can Find Me Quickly

– And Many Other Things…..

In this blog post, I’m going to share some tips and strategies on how to go from nobody to somebody in the online world.

Establish Your Presence

Before you can brand yourself, you MUST establish your presence and let the world know you exist. For me, I simply created a website under my own domain name, some social media pages for my business personality and a blog where I shared tips, lessons and experiences in my entrepreneurial journey.

Whatever it is that you want to do, you must start by setting up some sort of presence using a combination of the things mentioned above for people to know you exist online. Find a unique and authentic way to position yourself in the online space. My unique pitch? I was the young entrepreneur. Find something that is unique and that people will be able to relate with you on.

Contribute Everywhere

Nowadays, I am far more selective on what publications I write articles for, who I interview for and which speaking events I attend. When I first started out, I didn’t care if the site had 10 visitors a month or 10 million, I was there for whatever they needed.

One of the biggest ways that I was able to grow my online brand was from simply being everywhere. I took every interview opportunity and did my best. I took hundreds of guest writing opportunities and contributed my content everywhere I could. Lastly, I sometimes spent money out of my pocket to travel out of the state to speak at an event where I didn’t get paid a dime. This is how you grow your presence.

Social Media Is Everything

The more active you are on social media, the better your online presence will look. Build a Twitter account up and be ready to engage. When I started my Twitter account up, I made sure to follow with everyone relevant in my industry and I made it a point to post good tweets, tweet back to people and talk to as many people as I could.
The results? I now am verified on Twitter and have 250,000+ followers that actively engage and interact with me on this social media platform. Just imagine that, from only Twitter….I’ve been able to drive 250,000 different eyeballs to my personal brand. Add Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Periscope and others to the mix…..and you’ve got the ability to showcase your brand to millions.

Provide Value

The quickest way to success online is to provide value. The more free and easily accessible this value is, the better the benefits will be. For example, I blog and take hours of my time on a weekly basis to share free content, tips and advice with the world. What do I get out of it? Looking at it from a black and white standpoint, I don’t get anything. I share this information for free and spend time as a result.

Many people might look at that and say, what a waste of time! However, the truth is that I get more eyes on my brand, I get more opportunities as a result of it and I’m able to expand my horizons farther than I would if I charged for this content. If you provide value, people and eyes will automatically gravitate towards you.

Be Real

Many people think that they can ‘outsource’ building their personal brand. However, that’s fake and eventually people will catch on to it. You need to be real and honest when building your online presence. If you’re going to start a blog, write your own posts otherwise you’re just lying to everyone.

If you keep it real with your audience, they’ll be real with you. They’ll provide you with value back in return and your online presence will thrive since people will have nothing but good things to say about you.

Conclusion

In conclusion, building your personal brand from nothing to reputable doesn’t take a long time. If you are willing to put the time and effort in, you can be recognized online within just a few short months. In this post, I shared my tips on how to go from nobody to somebody in the online world.

How To Launch A Tech Startup For The Non-Techie

Got a tech idea, but you aren’t technical? No worries. In this blog post, I’ll share with you my strategies on how to launch a tech startup for the non-techie.

Do you have a great tech idea, but you lack the skills and knowledge necessary to build it? Don’t worry. I was exactly where you are at when I first launched my tech company, StatFuse.

Coding? Programming? UI Design? These words were all foreign to me for the most part and I absolutely didn’t have the skills necessary to successfully build out my tech startup. However, I had a great idea for a company that I thought would be successful on the internet.

Instead of giving up or trying to learn how to program (which could have taken months if not years), I decided to get creative and find a way around it. In this blog post, I’ll share with you my strategies on how to launch a tech startup for the non-techie:

Have A Concrete Plan

If you have a great idea, you need to put together a solid plan of how you imagine your idea to work and what your expectations are. This isn’t necessarily a business plan, but rather a plan of action. How do you plan to turn this concept into a money-making machine? That’s the first thing everyone is going to ask you.

Assemble A Team

Be honest with yourself and analyze your strengths and weaknesses. If you are non-technical, one of your biggest weaknesses clearly revolves around not being able to program, design or code. As a result of that, you need to build a team around the things you aren’t so good at. In this situation, you might make it a necessity to find a technical person to partner up with. You can also see what other things you need help with and try putting together a winning team.

Think MVP

If you’re planning to pay for development or even recruiting a technical person to work with you, you need to get as basic as you can. Many people fall into the trap of building out a beautiful platform from day one, but that’s unrealistic. Your ideas and concepts are unproven and you need to get validation to build a full platform out. Ask yourself what the core concept of your idea is and focus on developing that.

Be Open To Changes

When you aren’t technical, you sometimes have to rely on the expertise of your technical lead when it comes to building your idea out. No matter how great a concept seems in your mind, it might just be physically impossible to push out in the form of code. When this is the case, be open to change and hearing what other ideas your partners and colleagues may have in regards to the feasibility of a concept.

Conclusion

If you aren’t a technical person, but have a tech idea….don’t be discouraged. There’s always a way around it and some of the most successful online startups and businesses in the world were founded by non-technical people. It’s all about using your pool of resources and giving your best.

5 Bad Habits You Must Give Up To Succeed

In this post, Jeet Banerjee shares his 5 bad habits that you must give up to succeed. Find out what these habits are and how you can quickly eliminate them from your life.

If you follow the good habits successful people share, chances are that you’ll eventually be success as well. However, that’s much easier said than done. There are so many bad habits that are easily adopted just because of how natural they feel.

Habits can make or break you. Good habits help you stay on top of things while bad habits can you hold you back or cause distractions limiting your chances at being successful. I struggled with many bad habits early on in my entrepreneurial journey and correcting those habits allowed me to get to the next level.

In this post, I’m going to share with you 5 bad habits that you must give up to succeed in whatever you do:

1. Needing Other People’s Approval

Early on in my life, I fell victim to this too. I cared about what every single person thought and I wanted to make sure that I was able to make everyone in the entire world happy. The harsh reality is that it’ll never happen. The sooner you realize that you cannot satisfy everyone in the world and you need to stop caring about what people have to say/think, the quicker you’ll be able to move forward.

Eventually, you’re going to have to choose between your own ego and what’s good for you to be successful. If you can be okay with hearing negativity and criticism and you don’t allow that to derail you on your path, you’re one step closer to being successful.

2. Thinking You Can Be Perfect

Being that I’ve been a perfectionist for the greater part of my life, this was the toughest habit I had to give up. I cared about every pixel with my designers, I cared about every line of code with my developers and I wanted every last word of a press release to be perfected. Not only did this frustrate my team members and partners, but I wasn’t moving forward.

I quickly learned that PERFECT doesn’t exist in this world. The sooner you can give up the idea that you can be perfect, the better your chances of success will be. Stop focusing on perfecting things, start pushing things to the market as soon as possible and seeing how much you can learn from valuable feedback.

3. Starting Things That You Don’t Finish

Being an entrepreneur, your mind runs wild and you’re constantly looking for new opportunities. When these new opportunities come around, you drop your previous projects and move onto new ones. This eventually becomes an endless cycle that ends up taking your life into a spiral.

I quickly learned after a few months of being an entrepreneur that opportunities would present themselves all the time. I had to be wise in deciding which things I wanted to follow and which things I had to politely decline. From there, I made a vow to finish things all the way through once I started them so that I’m not bouncing all over the place.

4. Letting Yourself Go

As someone who’s busy, work is constantly on your mind. It rules your day and sometimes even your night leaving very little time for everything else. When I talk about letting yourself go, I’m not just talking about it from a looks standpoint.

You have to create a routine where you have time to exercise, eat properly, spend time with your loved ones and do things that are fun, but have no relation with your business. Creating balance in your life is extremely important and many new entrepreneurs tend to forget about everything else when they launch their first business. This habit is not only extremely dangerous to your health, but it’s something you’ll regret many years down the line.

5. Excuses

Everyone makes excuses for their actions, downfalls and failures in life. We as humans naturally use excuses as a defense mechanism to justify a result. I was the king of excuses growing up, whether it was in the world of business or to get out of doing chores with my parents, I always had a reason to justify a negative action.

Own up to everything you do. Just like if you sold your next company for $1 billion, you would probably own up and take some credit for the success. When you fail, you need to own up and take credit. Not only will you be mentally stronger, but people will perceive you to be a stand up person. One who can take credit during success must be able to do the same during failure. Stop making excuses, own up to it and you’ll see you being far more successful.

Conclusion

All in all, habits are the things that can make or break the successes in your life. In this post, I shared 5 bad habits that you must give up to succeed. Are there some other habits that you gave up on your path to success?
